CELEBRATE PRIDE WITH LUCAN LIBRARY

The team at Lucan Library have an exciting schedule of activities lined up this month to celebrate Pride 2023.

Join the team on Wednesday 21st June at 6pm for a screening of Handsome Devil (film showing, suitable for over 15yrs). This 2016 Irish comedy drama film was written and directed by John Butler. It centres around Ned, an ostracised teenager in an elite, rugby obsessed, all boys boarding school in Ireland. Ned’s unlikely friendship with his new roommate Conor, the schools star rugby player is put to the test by those around them. The film features themes of homosexuality, while examining hypocrisy and snobbery in the Irish private school system.

This month’s Young Adult Book Club Meeting takes place on Saturday 24th  June from 3pm. Members have chosen two books The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson and Solitaire by Alice Osemann. New members from 12-17 years of age are welcome to come and join in the book discussion.

Dublin Libraries Pin Your Pride badges back by popular demand this June! These smart & colourful badges are issued each Thursday until June 22nd  and can be collected at the library desk.
