WHATS ON AT LUCAN LIBRARY THIS MARCH

Spring has officially sprung and at the Lucan Library they have an action-packed schedule lineup including a host of activities to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and to lots of events and workshops to keep little ones busy during the Easter mid-term break. COMEDA Home Emergency Kit, Wednesday 6th March at 7pm

The team from COMEDA will host a demonstration on how to get the best use from the Home Emergency Kit. This kit helps you see where you can make savings in your home energy expenses. Kits can be borrowed at the library. Register for this event here.

Poet’s Perch, Tuesday 5th March at 7pm

This creative class for adults is led by amateur poet Natalie Ryan. The theme this month is ‘Happiness’. Attendees are encouraged to bring along a poem, that you like or have written to share with the group.

Seachtain na Gaeilge- Celebrating the Irish language & culture, Wednesday 6th March at 3:30pm

Discover the Story of St. Patrick with Irish History Live. All ages are welcome and bookings are available from February 28th at 3:30pm.

History Talk, Thursday 21st  March at 7pm

Join Professor Paul Holm for an in-depth look at Dublin’s medieval slave trade. Paul will discuss what happened to the men and women who were sold on the Dublin slave market in the early middle- ages? Bookings can be made here, from 7th March.

Irish Astronomy Week, Monday 11th  March at 7pm

Learn about the birth of the solar system with Michael McCreary of the Irish Astronomical Society. Enjoy a fascinating talk spanning a brief introduction to astronomy, how the solar system came to into existence, how the sun works and the different types of planets and where they are. Booking’s advised from Monday 1st March at 10am via Eventbrite.

Easter Art & Creativity, Thursday 28th March at 3:30pm

Celebrate Easter and get creative with Elena Buttner. This fun filled workshop is ideal for kids aged between 6-8 years of age. Booking is essential & places are available form Thursday 21st  March here.  

Please note that all South Dublin Libraries will be closed for the St. Patrick’s Day holiday on Saturday 16th and Monday 18th  March. Lucan Library will also be closed on Friday 15th  March to facilitate staff training. Library will reopen as normal from 9:45am on Tuesday 19th  March.

Please note that Lucan Library will close on Thursday 28th March at 8pm and reopen at 9:45am on Tuesday 2nd April.
